Training and support for people establishing social enterprises

At the end of June 2007, CAN successfully completed the contract with Business Link to provide Social Enterprise Start Up Training.

For the previous 15 months, training programmes were rolled out across Wessex (Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Dorset). The programmes included ‘master classes’, networking events and consultancy sessions, as well as three days of training for social enterprise in marketing, business planning and finance.

For the duration of the contract, CAN had the pleasure of working with a diverse range of clients equally sourced through Business Link & CAN channels

Of these clients,

  • 148 individuals received appropriate training, and
  • 58 groups received one-to-one assistance,

    • benefiting from the vast knowledge base of CAN workers

    All educational materials used in training were developed by, and are original to CAN
